Winding Steam Engine

Home

This a model of a winding steam engine used in mines to lift ore out of vertical shifts. It is of my design and I have no written plans, they are in my head. All the parts are formed to shape and size by machining, grinding, and hand filing. I do not have a foundry to produce castings. The main parts are cast iron. It has a 1.125" bore and 1.5" stroke. The four lever on the operstor platform control the throttle, the clutch for the gear train, the wench brake and the reversing lever.
